Research & Areas of
Our research deals with
applications of ultrafast spectroscopy to condensed phase photochemistry
and photobiology. State of the art femtosecond lasers are constructed in
house, and used to develop spectroscopic methods for following chemical
dynamics in real time. Small model systems are investigated to
appreciate the effects of condensed surroundings on photoinduced
dynamics. Similar methods are also applied to study photoreactive
systems of intrinsic functional importance such as photosynthetic
proteins, or more recently light harvesting semiconductor nano-crystals.
