בחודש הבא נא לחפש את הירח ביום רביעי, א' באלול תש"ע. מירושלים, הירח עשוי להיראות לעין בין 19:30 ו-20:05. בשעה 19:30, הירח יהיה באזימות °269, זרת 1 (°20) שמאלה משקיעת השמש וברום 4 אצבעות (°8). ייתכן שהירח ייראה יום קודם בעזרת טלסקופ טוב מדרום-מערב ארה"ב ואילו לא תתאפשר ראייה מצפון אירופה עד יום חמישי.

סמינריון בנוסה קדוש החודש

ביום שלישי, ז' באלול תש"ע בשעה 13:30 תתקיים סמינריון על קידוש החודש שיכלול שחזור קבלת עדות בבית דין ברח' באר שבע 8, ירושלים. יהיה הרצאות על מדידות אסטרונומיות בעזרת כלים קדומים ותצפיות בירח בשיטות מודרניות. יתקיים שחזור קבלת עדות (דחויה מהשבוע הקודם).

Next month, please look for the Moon on Wednesday 11^th August 2010. From Jerusalem it may appear between 19:30 and 20:05. At 19:30, the Moon will be at azimuth 269°, 1 span (20°) left of the sunset and 4 fingers (8°) high. The Moon may be seen a day earlier with a good telescope from the south-western USA while it will not be seen till Thursday from northern Europe.

Moon watching workshop

On Tuesday 17^th August 2010 at 13:30 there will be a workshop (mostly in Hebrew) on observing the Moon including a reconstruction of receiving testimony at 8 Beer Sheva St., Jerusalem. There will be lectures on astronomical measurements using ancient instruments and observing the Moon using modern methods. There will be a reconstruction of receiving testimony (delayed from the previous week).
