בדרך כלל, ברוחב של הארץ, הירח נעלם לשנים או שלושה ולפעמים ארבע לילות. חישובים תיאורטיים רמזו שפעם בכ-18 שנה בארץ, יש לירח סיכוי סביר להיעלם רק ללילה אחד.

 

נא לחפש את הירח מחר (יום שני, ל' בסיון תשס"ט) בבוקר ושוב מחרתיים (יום שלישי, א' בתמוז תשס"ט) בערב. לפני כשנה בפעם הראשונה בעולם צולמו סהרי הירח גב-אל-גב, כלומר בבוקר ולמחרת בערב כתוצאה ממאמץ חברי האגודה הישראלית לצפייה בירח והתמונות פורסמו בשני כתבי עת בינלאומיים. החודש זה קורה שוב אומנם הסיכוי קטן יותר אך שווה המאמץ.

 

ייתכן שהירח יופיע מחר בבוקר של יום שני, ל' בסיון תשס"ט בארץ. מירושלים (ודומה לכך בשאר הארץ) תיתכן ראייה בין 04:55 ו-05:23 וראיית הירח תהיה קשה ביותר או בלתי אפשרית לראייה. בשעה 05:23 הירח יהיה באזימות °65 וברום °½6. ניתן להשתמש בכוכב חמה לאתר את הירח.

 

ייתכן שהירח יופיע ביום שלישי, א' תמוז תשס"ט בארץ וברוב העולם. מירושלים (ודומה לכך בשאר הארץ) תיתכן ראייה בין 19:57 ו-20:32 והירח יהיה קשה לראייה. בשעה 19:57 הירח יהיה באזימות °293 (°½5 שמאלה ממקום שקיעת השמש) וברום °½7. מסקנדינביה ואוסטרליה הירח ייראה רק ביום רביעי.

  ניתן להוריד את תוכנת לונקל 3.1 גרסה סופית. אני מקווה שזוהי הגרסה האחרונה לפני הסופי.

 

גב-אל-גב סהרי הירח שנראו ממעלה אדומים, בצד ימין הירח המתמעט ביום שלישי כ"ט אייר תשס"ח 05:04 ובצד שמאל הירח המתחדש ביום רביעי א' סיון תשס"ח 20:12.

Usually, at the latitude of Israel, the Moon disappears for two or three and occasionally four nights. Theoretical calculations have suggested that once in about 18 years in Israel, the Moon has a reasonable chance of disappearing for only one night.

 

Please look for the Moon tomorrow (Monday 22nd June 2009) morning and again the next day (Tuesday 23rd June 2009) in the evening. About a year ago for the first time in the World, Back-to-back crescent Moons were photographed with only one moonless night in between. This success was a result of a concerted effort by tens of members of the Israeli New Moon Society and was published in two international journals. Although the chances this time are less than last year, it is worth the effort.

 

The Moon might appear tomorrow morning, Monday 22nd June 2009. From Jerusalem (and similarly for the rest of Israel) the Moon may be seen between 04:55 and 05:23 and will be extremely difficult or impossible to observe. At 05:23 the Moon will be at azimuth 65° and altitude 6½°. Mercury can be used to locate the Moon.
