הרצאה על ברכת החמה היום, תצפית בירח בליל שבת עם נטייה נדירה, שחזור העדת עדים ביום ראשון – זהו שבוע עמוס!

כידוע נברך את ברכת החמה בערב פסח השנה. לקראת הברכה, בע"ה אני נותן שיעור (בעברית) מלווה במצגת על ברכת החמה היום יום רביעי הבא, כ"ט אדר תשס"ט (25.03.2009) בבית כנסת הגילגל, רח' הגילגל, מעלה אדומים בשעה 20:30. למי שלא יכול להגיע ניתן לעיין בחומר בספרייה http://chem.ch.huji.ac.il/nmr/foo/hachama/

נא לחפש את הירח ביום ששי ב' ניסן תשס"ט. מירושלים (ודומה לכך בשאר הארץ) תיתכן ראייה בין 18:58 ו-19:49 (שעון קיץ – אל תשכחו להזיז את השעון ביום ששי לפנות בוקר) והירח לא יהיה קשה לראייה. בשעה 18:58 הירח יהיה באזימות °277 (°½3 ימינה ממקום שקיעת השמש) וברום °½10. הירח ייטה ימינה במקום שמאלה כרגיל. מאוסטרליה ודרום אפריקה הירח לא ייראה עד למחרת.

מארגנים תצפית בירח למי שנמצא במעלה אדומים. התצפית תתקיים, אם תנאי מזג האוויר יאפשרו זאת, בליל שבת בשעה בגן הקטן בין 52 ו-54 מצפה נבו (בנייני ברקן). תפילת מנחה בשעה 18:40 (שעון קיץ) ואחר כך תצפית בירח, קבלת שבת וערבית.

מי שרואה את הירח מוזמן לשחזור העדה בפני בית דין ביום ראשון ד' ניסן תשס"ט בין 17:30 ו-18:30 ברח' באר שבע 8, ירושלים. נא לתאם את הגעתך מראש עם מזכיר בית הדין 025661962 או 0506733831.

Blessing of the Sun lecture today, Moonwatch Friday with an unusual orientation, testimony reconstruction Sunday – it is a busy week!

We are due to make the very rare (once per 28 years) blessing over the Sun on the eve of Passover this year. As we approach this date, I am due to give a lecture (in Hebrew) accompanied by a slideshow about the blessing over the Sun today, Wednesday, 25^th March 2009 at the Gilgal Synagogue, Rechov Hagilgal, Ma’ale Adummim at 20:30. Please look for the Moon from Israel and most of the World this Friday 27^th March 2009. From Jerusalem (and similarly for the rest of Israel) the Moon may be visible from 18:58 till 19:03 (Summer time – don’t forget to change your clocks in Israel Friday morning) and will not be difficult to see. At 18:58 the Moon will be at azimuth 277° (3½° right of the sunset) and 10½° high. The Moon will appear to tilt right rather than its usual left. From Australia and South Africa, the Moon will only appear the next day.

We are arranging a moonwatch for those in Ma’ale Adummim. This will take place, weather permitting, on Friday at 18:40 (summer time) in the small park between 52 and 54 Mitspe Nevo (Barkan bldgs.). Minchah prayers followed by the appearance of the Moon then kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv.

Whoever sees the Moon is invited to a reconstruction of giving testimony before a beit din on Sunday 29^th March 2009 between 17:30 and 18:30 at 8, Beer Sheva St., Jerusalem. Please call the secretary on 025661962 or 0506733831 to arrange a time.
