נא לדווח אלי (royh63@gmail.com או 0523849276) על תצפיותיכם או ניסיונות לראות את הירח. בנוסף, בבית דין בירושלים מתכוון לשחזר גביית עדות החודש, אם משהוו ראה, מחר ביום ששי ב' חשון תשס"ט בין השעות 12:00 ו-13:00. מי שראה את הירח בחידושו מוזמן לגשת להעיד ברחוב באר שבע 8, ירושלים. היכנסו בדלת החיצונית וישר דרך הדלת הפנימי. נא להתקשר למזכיר בית הדין ב-025661962 או 0506733831 להגיד שאתה בא.

בקרוב מתחיל קורס בלימודי קידוש החודש בישיבת כרם ביבנה. לפרטים, נא ליצור קשר עם הרב שי ואלטר swa@zahav.net.il או 088566560. הקורס מתחיל ביום ג', י"ג חשון תשס"ט, והוא כולל 6 שיעורים שיתקיימו מידי יום ג' בין השעות 17:00 ל-19:30 בישיבת "כרם ביבנה".

בחודש הבא, הירח יופיע מהארץ ורוב העולם בשבת ב' כסלו תשס"ט. מירושלים, ודומה לכך משאר הארץ, תיתכן ראיית הירח בין השעות 16:32 עד 17:41. בשעה 16:32 הירח יהיה באזימות °½227 (°½17 שמאלה ממקום שקיעת השמש) וברום °½11. תיתכן ראייה בקושי רב יום קודם לכן מדרום מערב ארה"ב ואילו מסקנדינביה הראייה תתאפשר רק למחרת. תיתכן תצפית מודרכת במעלה לתושבי מעלה אדומים. אם היא תוצא לפועל יינתן פרטים בהמשך.

The New Moon was not seen from Israel this evening Thursday 30thOctober 2008 unless there are observers that have yet to report to me. Details will follow later.

Please report your sightings or attempts to see the Moon to me (royh63@gmail.com or 0523849276). In addition, a beit din (religious court) in Jerusalem intends to reconstruct the receiving eyewitness reports, if there are any, of seeing the Moon tomorrow, Friday 31st October 2008 between 12:00 and 13:00. Whoever sees the New Moon is invited to come to give their report at 8 Beer Sheva St., Jerusalem. To enter, go into the outer door then through the door that is in front of you. Please call the court secretary on 025661962 or 0506733831 to confirm that you are coming.

A course (in Hebrew) in the Jewish calendar and astronomy will be starting shortly at the Kerem B’Yavneh yeshivah. For details, contact Rabbi Shai Walter swa@zahav.net.il or 088566560. The course starts on Tuesday 11^th November 2008 and consists of six classes that will take place each Tuesday between 17:00 and 19:30 at the Kerem B’Yavneh yeshivah.

Next month, the Moon will appear from Israel and most of the World on Saturday 29^th November 2008. From Jerusalem and similarly for the rest of Israel, the Moon may appear from 16:32 to 17:41. At 16:32 the Moon will be at azimuth 227½° (17½° left of the sunset) and 11½° high. The Moon may just be visible to the naked eye from the south western USA a day earlier but will not be visible from Scandinavia until a day later. There may be a moonwatch gathering for people in Ma’ale Adummim. If so details will follow.
