נא לחפש את הירח מהארץ ורוב העולם ביום רביעי ב' תשרי תשס"ט. מירושלים (ודומה לכך משאר הארץ) ניתן לראות את הירח בין 18:20 ו-19:12. בשעה 18:20 הירח יהיה באזימות °241, °½25 שמאלה ממקום שקיעת השמש וברום °10. מצפון אירופה הירח ייראה רק למחרת.

מתוכננת תצפית מודרכת בישיבת ההסדר ברקת משה בגבעה מאחורי בית המדרש החדש בשעה 18:20 ביום רביעי לכל מי שנמצא במעלה אדומים בראש השנה. אורחי הישיבה מתבקשים להיכנס דרך השומר בשער הראשי ליד מגרש החנייה. אם יהיה מעונן יתקיים הסבר כללי על קידוש החודש. למעוניינים תתקיים תפילת מנחה בישיבה בשעה 16:00 או 16:30 (עוד לא החליטו סופית).

לא יהיה שחזור קבלת עדות החודש בבית דין מאחר שהחודש שלפי הראייה מלא.

Please look for the Moon from Israel and most of the World on Wednesday 1^st October 2008. From Jerusalem (and similarly for the rest of Israel) the Moon may be visible between 18:20 and 19:12. At 18:20 the Moon will be at azimuth 241°, 25½° left of the sunset and 10° high. From northern Europe the Moon will only be visible the following day.

There is a guiding Moon sighting planned at the Birkat Moshe Hesder Yeshiva on the hill behind the new beit hamidrash at 18:20 on Wednesday for all those who are in Ma'ale Adummim for Rosh Hashanah. Visitors to the yeshiva are asked to enter at the guard by the main gate next to the parking lot. In case of clouds there will be a talk about the Jewish calendar. There will be afternoon prayers (mincha) at the yeshiva for those interested at 16:00 or 16:30 (they have not decided on the time yet).

There will be no reconstruction of receiving eyewitness testimony at a beit din for this month as the month as observed is 30 a day month.
