ייתכן שהירח יופיע בין 19:41 ו-20:11 בירושלים ובצורה דומה משאר הארץ באזימות °279,
°12 שמאלה ממקום שקיעת השמש וברום °78. הירח לא ייראה עד למחרת בצפון אירופה. נא

Tomorrow, Friday 1st August 2008 there will be a slight
partial solar eclipse over the northern part of Israel. From Haifa northwards it may be possible to detect
a slight dent in the top of the Sun with the naked eye (using proper filters!!!

between 13:30 and 14:02. From Haifa
the extent of the eclipse will be 2.2%.
Further south you will need optical aid (using the projection method!!! See http://www.csiro.au/resources/ps2a6.html)
to detect it. In Jerusalem
the extent of the eclipse will be only 0.5 % between 13:37 and 13:53. South of Arad, there will not be
an eclipse.
Please look for the Moon in Israel on Saturday 2nd
August 2008. The Moon may appear between 19:41 and 20:11 in Jerusalem
and similarly for the rest of Israel,
at azimuth 279°, 12° left
of the sunset and 7° high. The Moon will not be seen till the next day in Northern Europe. Please report your sightings to me at royh63@gmail.com or by telephone to
