הירח לא נראה מהארץ ביום א' א' כסלו תשס"ח.
עננים (וגשם במקומות רבים) דווחו בירושלים, אשדוד, תקוע, דולב, עפרה, באר שבע,
ואפילו אילת. ממלטה השמיים היו קצת אביכים אבל העננים לא הפריעו. בכל זאת הירח לא
נראה. מאחר שמלטה מערבה מהארץ, ניתן להסיק את המסקנה שאלמלא העננים כאן הירח לא
היה נראה בארץ. למחרת, ביום ב', הירח נראה ברור על ידי אליהו כץ מעפרה החל משעה ½16:28
ועל ידי איתן מרקוביץ מדולב (לא האפשרות הראשונה) החל מ-17:00.
בחודש הבא נא לחפש את הירח ביום ג' ב' טבת תשס"ח. הירח יהיה קל לראייה.
מירושלים (והמצב דומה לשאר הארץ) תיתכן הראיה בין 16:28 ו-17:50. הירח יופיע
בתחילה שמאלה משקיעת השמש באזימות °256 ורום °13. אולי ניתן לראות את הירח בקושי
רב יום קודם מדרום מערב ארה"ב. מסקנדינביה הירח לא ייראה עד למחרת.
The Moon was not seen
from Israel
on Sunday 11th November 2007. Clouds (and in many places rain) were reported
from Jerusalem, Ashdod, Tekoa, Dolev, Beer Sheva and even Eilat. From Malta
the sky was a little hazy but clouds did not interfere. Nonetheless the Moon
was not seen. Since Malta is
to the West of Israel, one can conclude that had there not been clouds, the
Moon would not have been seen in Israel. The next day, on Monday,
the Moon was clearly seen by Eliyahu Katz from Ofra from 16:28½ and by Eitan
Markowitz from Dolev (not the first possible
sighting) from 17:00.
Next month, please look
for the Moon on Tuesday 11th December 2007. The Moon will be easy to
see. From Jerusalem (and similarly for the rest
of Israel)
the Moon should may be visible between 16:28 and 17:50.
The Moon will initially appear left of the sunset at azimuth 256° and altitude 13°.
It might be possible to see the Moon the previous day with difficulty from the
south-western USA.
From Scandinavia, the Moon will only be
visible the next day.
