בגלל עננים, הירח לא נראה מהארץ בשבת א' חשון
תשס"ח. קבלתי דיווחים על עננים מערד, באר שבע, ירושלים, דולב, קיבוץ האון
ועכו. הירח נראה ממחנה וירג'יניה, כווית על ידי ג'יימי בנטון וג'יימס לאו בשעה 18:05 (UTC+3) ומטיטוס, אלבמה, ארה"ב על ידי
אווה רייווס בשעה 16:22 (UTC-5).
העדות מכווית מזרחה מהרץ מוסיף לעובדה שהיה אפשרי לראות את הירח אלמלא העננים.

אריזונה, ארה"ב דיווח על ראיית הירח ביום ששי ל' תשרי בטלסקופ בלבד החל משעה
14:40 (UTC-7). ראייה כזאת חסרה תקדים ויש לבחון האם זה היה שיפור במיומנות
בשימוש בטלסקופ או שמא היה טעות.
בחודש הבא נא לחפש את הירח ביום א' א' כסלו
תשס"ח. הירח יהיה קשה או בלתי אפשרי לראייה תלוי בבהירות האוויר. מירושלים
(והמצב דומה לשאר הארץ) ייתכן הראיה בשבת בין 16:51 ו-17:13. הירח יופיע בתחילה
שמאלה משקיעת השמש באזימות °235 ורום °5. באוסטרליה, דרום אפריקה וארה"ב הירח
יהיה קל לראייה. הירח לא ייראה מצפון אירופה. למחרת ניתן לראות את הירח בקלות מכל
העולם למעט סקנדינביה ששם הירח ייראה ביום ג'.
Due to clouds, the Moon
was not seen from Israel
on Saturday 13th October 2007. I received reports of clouds from Arad, Beer Sheva, Jersualem, Dolev, Kibbutz Haon, and Acre. The Moon
was seen from Camp Virginia, Kuwait by Jamie Benton and James Law at 18:05 (UTC+3)
and from Titus Alabama, USA
by Eva Reeves at 16:22 (UTC-5). The Kuwaiti observation, being East of Israel, further
supports the fact that the Moon would have been visible in Israel had it
not been cloudy. Thank you to everybody that reported.

from Tucson, AZ, USA
reported seeing the Moon on Friday 12th October with a telescope
only starting at 14:40 (UTC-7). There has never been an observation like this
before and it still needs to be determined if this is due to an improvement in
telescopic technique or a mistake.
From Israel and most
of the world, please look for the Moon on Sunday 11th November 2007.
The Moon will be very difficult or impossible to see depending on atmospheric
clarity. From Jerusalem (and similarly for the
rest of Israel)
the Moon should may be visible between 16:51 and 17:13.
The Moon will initially appear left of the sunset at azimuth 235° and altitude 5°.
From Australia, South Africa and the USA the Moon will be easy to see.
The Moon will not be visible from northern Europe.
The next day it will be visible from throughout the World except for Scandinavia where it will not be visible till Tuesday.
