  למרות עננים ברוב חלקי הארץ, הירח נראה אתמול משני מקומות. ראיתי אותו בעין ממעלה אדומים מ-19:12 עד שהוא נכנס לעננים ב-19:33 (טמפרטורה °15, לחות 40%). הירח הופיע לעין אחרי שקיעת השמש המחושבת – 19:09. מכפר אלדד, ברוס בריל ראה את הירח החל מ-19:21 אבל לדעתו הייתה לו אפשרות לראות אותו כמה דקות לפני כן לו התאמץ יותר. מגוטבורג, שוודיה, אריק ערער ראה את הירח מ-20:48 עד שנכנס לעננים ב-21:10. דיווחו על עננים מירושלים, אשדוד, עכו ויום קודם לכן סנטניאל, קולורדו, ארה"ב.

 

  לגבי הסיפור של נטיית הירח שמאלה, בחודש שעבר לא דייקתי בדיווח ובזווית התמונה. הירח רק נראה נוטה שמאלה ממקומות מדרום מחברון ורק בתחילת ההופעה. למעשה רק איש אחד ראה אותו באמת נוטה שמאלה מבאר שבע. החודש הירח היה בנטיית שמאלה בתחילת הופעתו מכל חלקי הארץ. דייקתי בעיצוב התמונה עד לדיוק של °½± וב-19:17 הירח נראה נוטה שמאלה ב-°1.4 כאשר לפי החישוב הנטייה °1.6.

  בחודש הבא הירח ייראה מהארץ ורוב העולם ביום ה' כ"ט אייר תשס"ז. הירח יהיה גבולי בהודו ייראה רק למחרת מדרום אפריקה ואוסטרליה. הירח יטה שמאלה בתחילת הופעתו ממרכז ודרום הארץ.

  Despite clouds over most of Israel, the Moon was seen from two places in Israel. I saw it with the naked eye from Maale Adumim at 19:12 (UTC+3) until it disappeared behind clouds at 19:33 (T 15°C, RH 40%). The Moon appeared after the calculated sunset – 19:09. From Kfar Eldad, Bruce Brill saw the Moon starting at 19:21 although he admits that he did not see it at the start of its visibility. From Göteborg, Sweden, Ariq Arar saw the Moon from 19:48 (UTC+1) until it disappeared behind clouds at 21:10. Clouds were reported from Jerusalem, Acre, Ashdod and the previous evening from Centennial, CO, USA.

 

  Regarding the 'tilting left' story, last month I was not accurate regarding the angle and the orientation of the photograph. The Moon only titled left as seen from south of Hebron and then only at the start of its appearance. In the event only one person observed the Moon tilting left from Beer Sheva. This month the Moon was observable tilting left at the start of its appearance from the whole of Israel. I checked the orientation of the picture to an accuracy of ±½° and at 19:17 the Moon was observed to tilt left by 1.4° in good agreement with the calculated tilt of 1.6°.

  Next month the Moon will be seen from Israel and most of the World on Thursday 17th May 2007. The Moon's visibility will be marginal in India and will only be seen the next day from South Africa and Australia. The Moon will tilt left at the beginning of its appearance in central and southern Israel.
