2005/11/03

Dear All,

The New Moon was seen from Israel tonight Thursday 3rd November 2005. It was seen by me from Givat Ram at 16:58 till it faded at 17:14. Pam Dahl saw it from the Old City, Jerusalem at 17:06, Nehemia Gordon at 17:07 and Ray Dahl at 17:10 at the same location. The Moon was very difficult to see with the naked eye.

The moon as seen from Givat Ram, Jersualem at 17:02 (UTC+2) 2005/11/03

The New Moon was seen with a TELESCOPE ONLY yesterday (Wednesday 2nd November 2005) from Tucson, AZ, USA by Jim Stamm from 17:43 to 17:45 (UTC-7). This represents a record for the most difficult Moon ever seen and the shortest lag time (20 minutes).

Next month's New Moon should be visible on Saturday 3rd December 2005 (unless the sky is very hazy) from Israel and most of the rest of the World. However, the Moon will be very maginally visible or invisible in Sweden. The Moon will be visible the previous day from the USA.

Yours,

Roy.
