Dear All,

The New Moon was seen tonight from Israel (Thursday 7th July 2005). I saw the Moon from Maale Adumim at 20:03 until it disappeared behind the mountains at 20:25. Magdi Shamuel saw the Moon a 20:04 from Ashdod. Gilah Sergani saw the Moon at 20:07 from Arad at 20:07. Neria Haroe saw the Moon at 20:10 from Moshav Matzliach. David Polak saw then Moon from Kibbutz Saad at 20:19.

Last night (Wednesday 6th July 2005) Jim Stamm and John Polacheck made an attempt to observe the Moon with an 8” telescope but were unsuccessful. That was expected to be a difficult telescopic sighting under the best conditions. The previous day (Tuesday 5th July 2005) Jim Stamm saw the old Moon with binoculars only.

Next month's New Moon should be visible on Saturday 6th August 2005 from Israel and most of the rest of the World.

Yours,

Roy.
