Dear All,

I would like to add a section to the website with a list of members' printed publications on subjects related to the New Moon (Kiddush Hachodesh). If you are have published any papers, books, etc. and would like them listed then please send me the citation, title and abstract (if possible in English and Hebrew). Due to the nature of the website, only publications that represent the subject from the point of view of (Rabbinical Orthodox) Judaism or scientific papers that are not religiously biased can be listed. I hope that you will accept this restriction with understanding.

In addition to the sightings previously reported, the New Moon was seen from Jerusalem on Tuesday 11th January 2005 by Devorah Gordon, Ferenc Illesy and Yehudit Zeidler at 17:16, from Beit Kama by Elliyahu Katz at 17:11 from Ofakim by Yoseph Musa at 17:07, from Kibbut Saad by David Polak at 17:18 and from Beit Ezra  by Magdi Shamuel at 17:07.

Next months New Moon will not be visible to the naked eye from Israel on Wednesday 9th February 2005 but may be visible with binoculars or a telescope. Please try and look because my prediction that it will be visible may not be correct. The Moon should first appear in Israel on Thursday 10th February 2005.

Yours,

Roy.
